"Honestly guy's I want and need you to always remember "This too shall pass" because it's true, once you help yourself you'll be unstoppable."
It's a known quote that I'd like to focus on today "This too shall pass" - I'm the girl who loves quotes; in fact I have a full Pinterest board just for quotes (I probs add to this every day) you'll always see them pop up on my Instagram too. For me a quote can speak 1,000 words with endless meanings, I love coming across a quote and thinking 'yaaaas hunny!' that's being banked; you get the drift.
It just so happens that recently I hadn't been feeling myself, if you follow my blog then you'll know this already. But for those of you who may be new, long story short I became extremely depressed which also bought on anxiety. Now I know that in today's society Mental Health is something we tend to shy away from, something that we hide and has so much stigma behind it.
Anyway I recently wrote a blog called "Something we don't talk about enough" (you can find this using the search bar) in this I basically did a raw emotional totally honest blog about the way I'd been feeling. Mental Health as we all know can leave us in a massive rut, it feels like hell and you basically can end up hating everything.
If you follow my blog then you might be aware that I certainly do not lead a "simple life" there's a lot behind closed doors that unless I tell you about you simply would be unaware of. It's not an easy ride when you're battling Mental Health along with other stresses, it all became a little much for me. I learnt that you'll come across those who are understanding and kind but there will always be certain ass hole's who just make matters worse!
The only person who can help you, is you - I know how CLICHÈ. I used to get so annoyed when people would say this to me, for some reason it would bother me. Annoyingly however it's the truth and as soon as you realise this, the sooner things will begin to change.
When I'm down in the dumps there's a few things I like to do that help me; these are:
What helps lift your mood? Make a list right now and it'll hopefully flow straight from pen to paper, it's not just important to know these thing's but it's just as important to listen to your conscience. I know first handily that when you're depressed you feel like the whole world and everyone from within is against you. (it's not true, push through it)
Don't be ashamed of taking medication for your Mental Health, if it helps you then why would you be ashamed?! As long as you remember not to expect a quick fix, it can be so helpful. Everyone is different of course, but for me it took my tablets between 2-3 weeks before I noticed any difference, stay persistent with it. Believe in yourself, you can and you will get through it trust me! - You only know your true strength when you're forced to find it.
If those around you, aren't bringing you happiness, positivity and support then hell girl you're better off without them. You need to realise that people around you influence you, if you're hanging around people that are constantly negative or those people who are full of self pity, eventually they'll rub off on you. - I'm sure you've been in a situation before where you've met up with a friend, who did nothing but moan about how 'shit' life is and by the time you've left you also find yourself feeling like your life is also 'shit'.
I realised this goes the other way too, I met up with someone I hadn't seen in a while, we were chatting away as usual over a glass of wine or two catching up - you know normal stuff. But one thing she said to me has stuck with me. It went something along the lines of "Aimes I love to see you because with everything you go through, I never hear you moan you're always so positive and upbeat that it makes me feel proud to know you. Whenever you leave I always feel good because of you." this may seem like nothing to you, but after a couple glasses of wine or however many it actually hit me hard, right at the core. I fought back the tears and at this moment I realised that's who I am, that's who I like and who I want to be, it made me realise I've been feeling more myself and to tell you the truth it made my evening - I walked home with a smile on my face.
Honestly guy's I want and need you to always remember "This too shall pass" because it's true, once you help yourself, you'll be unstoppable. Nothing lasts forever, with time and effort things will improve. I know if you read my blogs some of them may come across as negative, but life happens we all go through this crazy roller-coaster called life. We all live differently and go through many obstacle's but realistically we should be helping each other out.
Stay positive, stay strong, always do you and stand hell'a tall and proud! Now I'm going to listen to what I need to do, by getting out of my comfies, have a bath and put some nice spring clothes on!
*Disclaimer - I have finished my first blogging book that I like to use to draft my blogs in, although it's been bloody hard work finding another similar one to continue with, I've finally found and ordered one that should be here shorty. So for this week I'm going to update my "Material Loves" part of the blog, while I await the delivery of my new journal as I've neglected that part of my blog, so keep your eyes peeled.
