The Gym Life
Just over a year ago now I decided I really needed to join a gym and start looking after my body. I never signed up because I thought I was fat or anything like that, but I will admit I've never partially liked my body or felt it was in good shape and I absolutely hated summer time and the thought of sitting in a bikini!
I have personally found joining the gym to be the best life choice I could have ever made. As I'd never joined a gym before I started first with a personal trainer who I spoke to about my goals, my eating style and my personal opinion on my body. After a few months I realised the difference was beginning to show and I felt dedicated and proud.
I wanted to write this post to to hopefully motivate anyone thinking about joining the gym and also to tell you my personal favourite exercises as I feel sometimes feel girls will shy away from doing weighted exercises due to thinking it'll give them muscles and therefore look manly.. I myself was a strong believer that this would be the case! However I have been doing at least 4-5 gym sessions per week now and in each of these I would be working out with weights. Although yes I have clearly gained some muscle this is not too much nore manly looking!!
In my 4-5 workouts I focus on:
Legs - squats, leg press, lunges, leg extension, deadlifts, leg curls/lying leg curl, hack squat.
Back - different variations of lat pull downs, different types of rows, deadlifts, pull ups, cable pull overs.
Arms - dumbbell curls, hammer curls, reverse curls, concentration curls, tricep press downs, over head tricep press, skullcrushers, dips.
Abs - planks, sit ups, crunches, cable crunches, wood choppers, leg raises, russian twists, penguins. With these I tend to use dumbell weights and medicinae ball weights.
Cardio - running machine; intense up hill walk, cross trainer, stair master, steppers, bikes.
I feel so much happier now with my body than I had ever felt before and for once am actually looking forward to summer and being able to wear a bikini comfortably and confidently. Although I strongly believe with the gym your always going to be able to make progression and up your game and for me looking and feeling good is my motivation.

The Big Move
I had never found living at home at the age of 21 to be a problem nor even thought about moving out.
However when me and my boyfriend got together, it became clear quite quickly we simply clicked with eachother right from the beginning. My family home was always pretty hectic and cramped, my bedroom was the smallest room in the house only able to fit a single bed and definitely no space for a wardrobe - my room soon became nicknamed "my little cuboard" and this by no means was exaggerated, it really was the smallest thing ever. My boyfriend moved out of his family home in Wisbech, into a small single rented room, to be closer to both me and his work.
After around 8 months of my boyfriend renting his bedroom in his shared house his landlord announced she was going to be selling the house. Which of course made things very stressful for my boyfriend as this was unexpected, sudden and so close to Christmas. We had a serious chat about our relationship and decided instead of him renting another bedroom it would actually work out much cheaper to find somewhere to move in together and obviously half the rent together.
So the hunt began and soon after around 2-3 months of looking around we viewed a gorgeous loft flat. This flat was something we weren't particularly looking for but it is safe to say we both fell in love with it immediately and without a second thought we accepted it there and then!!
So yes 2 weeks before Christmas 2015 we had accepted a place to live together and fallen in love with the place - moving your lifes worth of stuff into somewhere new is way more hard work than you'd ever realise until you are in that situation. However we got in, got decorated made our place a home and even added our very first Christmas tree!
I personally found putting my own stamp on our place perfectly easy as I'm a very arts and crafty person and planned how I wanted everything to look and be before we'd even moved in!
Before I do this I just want to take the time to say how proud I am of our little home, how much I love living here and to simply say I 100% am so pleased I went ahead in taking the steps to move out, and into my very own home. I can honestly say living with my boyfriend has bought us closer together, more in love and it's such a pleasure to live with my absolute best friend and other half. - Sorry for the cheesiness!
Of course this flat is our start of hopefully a very happy life together and I honestly can't wait for the time to become right to upgrade to a home with a beautiful garden to have summer barbecues and garden parties in.
Are you thinking of moving out of your family home, whether it be alone or with a partner? Let me know your thoughts.
